Bonjour les amis!
We'd like to say a big MERCI BEAUCOUP to all of you who visited our O-Week stall and signed up to become members! We held 3 successful (and best of all FREE!) events during O-Week 2009; a casual Pétanque afternoon on the Law faculty lawns, our first café rendez-vous for the year at Le Petit Tarte in Glebe, and a Wine and Cheese Tasting with WineSoc in the "24 Clubs in 24 Hrs" tent. We had over 150 people attend these three O-week events, and even won the Prize for 'Best 24 clubs in 24 hours event' with Winesoc for our Wine and Cheese Tasting! Massive thanks to our sponsors KING ISLAND DAIRY for their support of our Wine and Cheese Tasting too.
There'll be plenty more to see, do and eat with Frenchsoc in 2009, bigger and better events such as French Film screenings, conversation groups, more café rendez-vous, a Soirée de la Francophonie avec L'Alliance Française, Wine and Cheese nights, the Eurovision Party and plenty of croissants and crepes! Our semester 1 calendar is also attached, so check out all the Frenchsoc events we've got planned so far for this semester! There are more to be added still!
This week is films galore, with 'Summer Hours' at Palace Norton on Wednesday night and 'Shall we kiss?' at Palace Norton on Saturday afternoon. Conversation groups will start in week 2. Don't forget to check out our new website FRENCHSOC.WEEBLY.COM
