GERMAN KLUB GIANT SCHNITZEL CHALLENGE!

Bavarian Bier Cafe, 24 York Street, 6-10pm Tuesday 2nd June.

Come and celebrate the end of Semester Deutsche-style, with a schnitzel that has more in common with the Swiss Alps than a delicious food product. But still a lot in common with a delicious food product.
This Tuesday 2nd June the German Klub would like to invite you to celebrate the end of Semester in the Bavarian Bier Cafe's GIANT SCHNITZEL CHALLENGE! This involves you facing the gruelling task of eating a delicious schnitzel. Tough! Better yet if you manage to complete this feat of great physical magnitude there's a free shot of sweet, sweet German Schnapps courtesy of the Bavarian Bier staff standing in awe of your achievement.
But that's not the best news. Due to the magic of USU funding, the Klub is offering all of this for the tear-inducingly low price of $5 ($15 non-access)! Even better if you're a member of the German Klub - we'll subsidize $5 off any beer you fancy!
So pop along sometime around/after 6pm to the Bavarian Bier Cafe at 24 York St to enjoy some amazing German cuisine and culture with your fellow appreciators of oversized German meals.

FRENCH FILM SCREENING NOW IN HOLME COMMON ROOM

Coucou a tous,

Just a quick note to say that the venue of the French film screening of "Jeux d'enfants" (Love me if you Dare) tomorrow afternoon has been changed from the Education Building to the HOLME COMMON ROOM, which is on the second level of the Holme Building (go up the stairs near the chemist and coffee/stationery shop).

We'll start the screening a bit after 4pm, come along and enjoy some free snacks à grignoter and this popular French film! Check out the facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=84932568703.

Jeux d'enfants:
As adults, best friends Julien and Sophie continue the odd game they started as children -a fearless competition to outdo one another with daring and outrageous stunts. While they often act out to relieve one another's pain, their game might be a way to avoid the fact that they are truly meant for one another.

Hope to see you all there!

FREE PÉTANQUE DAY WITH THE SYDNEY FRENCH LANGUAGE GROUP!
Entrance to Centennial Square, off Dickens Drive, Centennial Park, 11am, SUNDAY 24th May.

Join the Sydney French Language Group for Pétanque and a picnic at Centennial Park this Sunday! Pétanque or boules is a game similar to bowling (lawn bowls) but it uses smaller bowls and can be played on any type of surface. A game can be as short as 10min so that you can try, have a rest (and a pastis, the traditional drink that comes with pétanque) and play again if you feel like it! It is an excellent event to socialise and have fun. This pétanque event is free, open to all levels and will be good fun, even for beginners!
The well established Pétanque club "Boules Artistes" is co-organising and will provide all the equipment for free! You are encouraged to bring some food and drinks with you. The leafy and grassy area in
Centennial Park where the event will be held is the perfect place for a picnic.
The meeting place will be on the gravel track just off
Dickens Drive, on the north east corner of the park. It is pretty easy to find, but if you get lost on the day call Alexis on 04 24 678 570 for directions.
