Frenchsoc Newsletter Semaine 12

Bonjour les amis!

This week Frenchsoc will be hosting a FREE on campus film screening of 'Jeux d'enfants' (Love me if you dare), at 4pm on TUESDAY the 26th May, in a classroom in the Education Building. We will also be joining the Volunteers' Association and many other clubs and societies to raise money for the Cancer Council on THURSDAY at Australia's Biggest (Multicultural) Morning Tea on the Cadigal Lawns (behind Sci Tech).

On SATURDAY check out "From Paris with Love", a French themed night at the Gaff Nightclub. Frenchsoc members can enjoy FREE entry as well as FREE food, wine, and cheese! Watch out for a facebook event coming soon!

The French Study Group and Conversation Groups are also on in week 12 as normal. And as you begin to think about studying and finishing up the last of those assignments, you can look forward to Frenchsoc's 'End of Semester Party' which will be held on Monday 30th June, the first week of les vacances in a location to be revealed soon!

Don't forget to check out our website FRENCHSOC.WEEBLY.COM and Facebook GROUP (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15140045812&ref=ts) for more information and photos from past events.

CETTE SEMAINE avec FrenchSoc:

FRENCH STUDY GROUP

Barnard Eldershaw, Top floor Manning House, 3-4pm MONDAY 25 May.

Set aside some time to actually do that French homework and prepare for upcoming exams! Come study and chat with a group of French students - bring along your grammar exercises and revision sheets!

FREE ON-CAMPUS FILM: 'JEUX D'ENFANTS' (LOVE ME IF YOU DARE).
4pm TUESDAY 26th May, Education Room 458/9 (Follow the signs on Tuesday!).

Come along to our FREE screening of the fantastic French film 'Jeux d'enfants and enjoy some free snacks à grignoter. Follow the signs in the Education Building to find the classroom on Tuesday afternoon!

Jeux d'enfants:
As adults, best friends Julien and Sophie continue the odd game they started as children -a fearless competition to outdo one another with daring and outrageous stunts. While they often act out to relieve one another's pain, their game might be a way to avoid the fact that they are truly meant for one another.

AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST (MULTICULTURAL) MORNING TEA
Cadigal Green (behind Scitech), 10am- 1pm, Thursday 28 May.

This Thursday Frenchsoc is joining together with the International Office and several clubs including the Chocolate Society, Tea Society, Epicurean Society, Food Co-op, Vegetarian Society, Arab Students' Society and the Volunteers' Association to raise money for the Cancer Council with Australia's Biggest Morning Tea (with an international/multicultural twist)! Celebrate the cultural diversity of local and international students on campus while supporting a good cause!

During Australia's Biggest (Multicultural) Morning Tea there will also be a number of live multicultural performances and activities including contributions from Pochoman (Cuba), Oz Locos, Soul Express, JazzSoc, FrenchSoc and many more. The event will also enjoy the generous donations of the University of Sydney Union, the International Office, Appletiser and Le Petit Tarte Café Glebe, as well as assistance from Vittoria and San Churros Glebe.
Frenchsoc will be selling some yummy croissants and tarts, so come along to enjoy these tasty treats and support charity at the same time! We might also have some petanque and French trivia too! All proceeds will go to the Cancer Council.

The event will be held down at Cadigal Green - the big lawns between SciTech/JFR and the Old Darlington School, in front of the Biochemistry Building.
