It was great to see so many exchange and international students last Thursday at our Welcome afternoon tea. We'd like to say thanks Azzuri's for hosting us and to everyone who came and made it such a fun afternoon! Check out future Frenchsoc events in the attached Semester 2 calendar!

Conversation groups

Enjoy a FREE coffee/hot drink and practice your French with other students.

 

Study group

2-3pm Monday August 10, Isabelle Fidler Room (Top floor of Manning)

Don't ignore your French homework! Study, share your knowledge and chat with a group of French students.

Frenchsoc General Meeting

4-6pm Thursday 20 August, Isabel Fidler Room, Manning House.

Interested in joining the Frenchsoc exec team, sharing your ideas for future Frenchsoc events or just want some free French food? Come along to our General Meeting!

We will be amending our constitution to enable up to 2 Language Officers and up to 6 General Execs to be part of the Frenchsoc Executive. We will also be electing a Publicity Officer.

If you'd like to be part of the Frenchsoc team and help out at events, come along to the General Meeting and join the executive!

Volunteer for the Verge Arts Festival: 31 August - 11 September

Interested in being a volunteer for the Verge Arts Festival? The Verge Arts Festival Directors are looking for a savvy bunch of go-getters to help run some of the Verge events- climbing trees, throwing paint, decorating the campus in chalk, hanging out with the artists, providing information and directions etc. For more information email: volunteer@usu.usyd.edu.au or phone 9563 6010. To get an introduction to volunteering for events such as Verge, you can also volunteer to help out at Frenchsoc events as well! Buddy Club

The Buddy Club is looking for enthusiastic students to take on the role of a Buddy to exchange students for semester 2, 2009. This program is a great opportunity to develop international networks, improve your cross-cultural skills and make lifelong friendships. Sydney French Choir

The Sydney French Choir is looking for singers to rehearse a diverse Francophone choral repertoire, including styles such as: Classic, Pop, Jazz, Cabaret, Barbershop, Sacred and Alternative. Frenchsoc members can join the choir at half of the normal cost, $50 for 8 week rehearsal (2 hours per week).
