Conversation groups

1-2pm Monday-Thursday, Manning Backcourt.

Conversation groups will be running again this week, Monday through Thursday from 1-2pm at the Manning backcourt (i.e. behind Manning).  Enjoy a FREE coffee courtesy of Frenchsoc, have a chat and practice your French with other students (local and international!) Look out for the French flag and some of our friendly exec in our navy Frenchsoc t-shirts. If it's raining don't forget to check inside!

Study group

2-3pm Monday, 12th October, Isabel Fidler Room (Top floor of Manning)

Come along to our study group again this Monday to do some homework or study for those upcoming exams.  It's a great opportunity to stop procrastinating and get some help from more advanced students, with the added bonus a free coffee, courtesy of FrenchSoc!

Film Screening: Les Poupées Russes

18:00 - 21:00,  Tuesday 13th October, Hermann's Bar,

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=143752125761

Since our Verge screening of L'Auberge Espagnol was such a success, FrenchSoc and Meet-Up are showing its sequel this Tuesday night: Les Poupées Russes (Russian Dolls).  Come along to Hermann's at six for drinks and conversation, for a seven o'clock start to the film!

Résumé du film:
Xavier is now thirty. No longer a student, he is not yet a well-balanced, fulfilled adult either. His career is unsatisfying : far from being the renowned novelist he aimed to be he must be content with small jobs like reporter or ghost writer. His greatest "achievement" in "literature" is his collaboration to the script of a corny TV soap! His romantic life is not much better, full of one-night-stands and unfinished romances.  When Xavier seduces women beautiful inside and out, such as Kassia and Wendy, he can never seem to keep them. Will he bring his life into focus?
